Honor, Courage, Commitment: Marine Corps Art, 1975-2015

The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, VA, just opened a new gallery dedicated to combat art and we were honored to be invited to the opening. The gallery was very well done with movable walls that were custom designed and built to hold the artwork.

The pieces chosen to be displayed were outstanding. I’m sure it a was difficult task for Joan Thomas, Art Curator for the museum, to select the images to be used from their extensive collection.

The highlight for me was getting to meet some of the artists whose works were displayed, and putting the faces to those names we’ve seen over the years as we have worked with the NMMC collection. I was impressed by how quickly we were made to feel right at home. Thanks again to the museum director, Lin Ezell, for the invitation. – Joe Rudinec
