A Practical Approach To Collection Photography

Presented at the Museum Association of New York’s annual conference in Cooperstown, NY, our session covered the entire spectrum of collection photography:

Laying a foundation by defining terminology and comparing file formats, we place emphasis on setting your standards both for photography and organizing and dissimulating digital files. Click here for download – Joseph Rudinec – Principal Presenter

The session then moves on to the decision making process of doing it yourself vs. hiring a professional.  Click here for download – Christina Milliman

If you ever wondered how a conservator uses technical photography to analyze a painting, you’ll be amazed at the information that can be obtained.  Click here for download – Nathan Sutton

The session ends by exploring potential uses for your images and addressing copyright concerns.  Click here for download – Evelyn Penman

We hope you find this to be a useful reference.  If you have any questions, would like more information or have a topic you would like addressed, just send us an email or call.

NCIS and RequestAPrint

Images from the Navy Art Collection will soon be on the set of the hit TV show, NCIS, starring Mark Harmon. The reproductions are the works of Navy Artist Morgan Ian Wilbur. In addition to “Steam for Speed“ (shown here), “USS Cornado Rides A Sparkling Sea”, “Naval Air Over Korea” and “Turnin’ & Burnin’” were also selected. The episode will be taped from March 7th through March 18th. Watch for them in the upcoming season.  View over 6000 images from the collection at RequestAPrint.

GPO Official Rating: Level 3

It’s all in the details. We submitted RequestAPrint samples to the U.S. Government Publishing Office and our company has been rated as a Quality Level 3, the highest rating for large format digital printing. We work hard to make sure the prints you receive are the best they can be, and it’s nice that the GPO agrees. Give us a try.
