I recently had the honor of attending the National Maritime Historical Society’s awards dinner in New York City on October 28th. The event was held at the New York Yacht Club in the “Hull Room”. This is a two story room with an ornate fireplace and 2 bay windows that beautifully display numerous hull designs and models of America’s Cup yachts. In addition to being surrounded by the history of the New York Yacht Club, having the opportunity to meet the awardees and hear of their accomplishments was both humbling and awe inspiring. These are truly accomplished individuals who are also very personable. I would like to thank the National Maritime Historical Society for extending me this invitation.
